OUT OF THE SHADOW

Taken on July 14, 2019

Akin to the queuing for photo taking at Hong Kong Quarry Bay neighborhood, here in Singapore this staircase is the star, everyone is more than willing to queue for their turn to have the staircase all to themselves to pose and be photographed.

This Spiral staircase is part of a structure call The Battle Box, a hidden WWII underground bunker in Fort Canning opened to the public not many years ago.

FOUND A SWEET SPOT

I am not queuing to pose but just want to take a good shot of the staircase, so will occasionally pop by when I'm nearby looking to see if I can get a good aiming spot, and was really in luck this time to snagged a hard to get sweet corner facing the staircase, not blocking people posing and nobody blocks me.

Unhindered, I snapped many shots as bubbly youths scrambled up the stair, posed and scurried down.

POST EDITING

One pleasant outcome of the shots was, the place is clean, no litter for me to take out during post, no cigarettes butts, plastic bottles, tissues or bits of this and that, it is unbelievable.

There were many good shots but a pity faces were obvious which to me is deemed unsuitable for posting so those pictures could not see the light of day, this piece though, where the lights and vintage stair lend a natural surreal charm to itself became the chosen piece for "Out of the Shadow".

Thank you for visiting
