The Breakout

In the midst of the Coronavirus fear, I took this shot with a face mask.

Feb 1st, 2020. I came to Thailand Bangkok shopping district for a short getaway along with photo taking. The lethal flu epidemic had just spilled over to neighboring Asian countries, people donning face mask, temperature detectors, hand sanitizing at shopping malls were all common sights, nevertheless such level of vigilance actually made me felt safer moving around crowded places.

The Leap

I noticed this interesting bright spot with a stark light cast across the steps and began composing shots at it. With a lot of time spent, I took many shorts framing the people walking by, but wasn't ready for what was about to happen next.

These two young man came by and started climbing the steps right at where the light cast is, the young man took a leap at the same instance when I timely pressed the shutter capturing him still in mid-air or maybe with a foot landed.

Meaning of the title

There is no philosophy behind this image, just a fluke shot captured during when the world is grappling with this virus outbreak which has of today's writing ( Feb 27, 2020 ) been awarded the name COVID-19 by WHO and a title aspiring an early discovery of vaccine and cure by leaps and bounds.
